A few wonderful days with my dear friend - my MUM

My dearest mum has been here for a few days over from south Australia on a little holiday to see us. She like myself are very "family" folks and every chance we get we like to be with family.
The photo above (while not the best) is a treasure as it is of her Dad old pop on his 101 years birthday. one day I will tell his story.
And what a story that is.
They sit here her brother kevin, Mum Nathalie and their dear dad Dave Rutt.

Mum and me!!

Mum thinks she is getting old and didn't like this photo but gosh she just had a knee replacement operation only four weeks ago and there she is standing with no help other than my arm around my dear mother. In my loungeroom having a lovely few days with us and many great grandchildren (who gave her lots of laughs - one even mentioned that he was sorry great nanni if you are sad because you have lost your walking stick)

My mum is an artist and so the great grandchildren made her put little paintings on their bedroom walls. A little redback now sits above the light switch of mr 4yr old, and miss 2.1/2yrs (must never forget the half!) has a little ladybug. they will now be there forever.

And this is my mum the day she married my dear dad they raised five of us and had a hard but happy life and each one of us are so greatful for their commentment to the family and their non conditional love.

Mum thank you with all my heart for a lovely visit and we will be over soon to put our loving arms around you once again.................I miss you right now very much.

I will visit all my dear blogger friends again real soon now that our little home is quiet again.

Your mom was a beautiful bride!

The photo of the two of you together shows a strong family resemblance. How nice that she could visit you and do paintings for the little ones. That is so special.

I enjoyed very much all three photos in this post, Lee-Ann. First of all the photo of your grandfather, and looking forward to reading his story.

The photo of you and your mother shows serene happiness (and do I detect a certain likeness??)

Your mother made a beautiful bride, with her life as wife and mother ahead of her. Nice to know she has created a strong family.

Lee-Ann...what a beautiful bride she was. Sometimes I wonder why we have to grow old and then look back at those pictures...No wonder it makes us feel bad!!
I stopped by last nigth and saw that you had your mother with you so did not bother. I saw you stopped by my blog so decided to come back.
I am so happy that you had such a good visit.
Take care. I know my parents live way out in Arizona from me here in Ga. in the STATES.
That is a great picture of the two of you. I would have that one framed!!

Wow! I'm here for the first time, and had to stop in the middle of perusing your blog to leave a comment.

How lovely to have your mother spend a few days with you and your family! (My mother passed years ago, so I envy those who can still be together, physically.)

And she's lovely. As you are.

Oh, and I see below that your son is 36? We have quite a lot in common then. My first born is 37. And my youngest is 34.

Okay...now, I'm gonna go view a bit more. Happy day to you.

Come visit if you can.

Lovely photos LeeAnn! Gosh you and your Mum are so alike - could be sisters! Now I don't mean that you look as old as her - take it that she looks as young as you - LOL! By the way, Ken and I are looking forward to joining you for Rob's special evening - it was too late to call you back after we had discussed it. I have faxed my annual leave request for that week into work already. Ken will ask for the week off, but if he doesn't get it, he said he will be okay to drive straight to work from Kyneton the next day.

Hello Lee-ann ~ A lovely post for your mother and it s great that you are so close. Photos are really nice of the two of you and as a bride, she was beautiful. And talented to be able to paint. Look forward to hearing more of her father's story. Thanks for your comments, there was enough food to share with you and your husband.
Take care, Hugs, erle.

She was a gorgeous bride! How lucky to have an artist mum. The little wrens on the plate are so lovely. She's very talented.

What a lovely family. I adore the pictures of your garden, such bright vibrant colors. We won't see colors like that again until April or May. Then here in Florida, they will only last until the end of June, it will be to hot for them to last.
Yes ma'am, I did join in June. My family is wrapped tight in the masonic teachings.
My husband is actually at his own EA degreee initiation tonight. He is one step closer to being a master mason now.
I hope your days are bright and warm!
