There is no way we can understand or rationalise these senseless acts, and like you, my heart aches for those dear children, their families and their whole community. All we can do is pray that these gentle people will feel the strength and peace of God at this time.

My heart and prayers are with those families too. What brings people to such desparate acts..?

This is such a sad thing. It's just so unfair that innocent children must suffer at the hands of evil people. My heart breaks for the pain their families are going through.

This is so much more horrific because of the gentle nature of the Amish people. I just heard that two more of the little girls died. It's so sad and senseless.

Another senseless tragedy where innocent lives were taken...just because one man was mad at God. I will never understand how they can do something like this...my prayers are with the children and families. Hugs xox

Lee-ann,
I echo your sentiment...so horrible and sad! I've lived right next door to the Amish, they would hurt noone, a very gentle people!! But noone in America least of all our school children needs to live in terror of going to school...I wish our president would work on this terrorist problem instead of the one overseas...this should take presidense right now I'm thinking...it is happening way to frequently!!
(((hugs))) from my grandmother heart to yours...I did a post almost like this one!

I too am just sick about this. Innocence needs to be so truly protected, and today instead innocence is more and more attacked and unprotected. It just makes me sick. I can only pray this will lead to a wake up call for us all here, as well as pray for these poor families.

Dear Lord, please hold them so very close to You and comfort and heal them. Lord please help us all to learn from this and heal as well, deep in Your loving care and protection, We thank you Our Dear Father. Amen

All I can say is "what is this world coming to, when a child isn't even safe in school anymore". I feel so sad for those families who have lost their children, and those whose kids are still fighting for life. Such a senseless act. And what a coward the person who did it was, committing suicide, rather than facing up to his actions.
A sad time for sure.
Take care, Meow

The morning after this happened I was at my favorite coffeehouse which also happens to one of the morning hangouts for the local police. As I talked with one of the detective (recently retired) I just shook my head and said, "If I needed proof that there was no place safe in this world, than this is it. If you aren't safe in an Amish one room school house, then you can't be safe anywhere". A very sad and bleak truth.
