can you see the key! this is a symbol of an open door. My home is always open and we will always welcome family and friends to walk in and should they need a chat and a cuppa! or a quiet moment to reflect on the past or their day at hand, should they be sad or happy, they are always welcome. You are always welcome.
The little bird is symbolic of the blue bird of happiness, you will find this a happy home filled to the brim with smiles and good cheer.
The berries are an indication of food, you will should you reach our door in need of food we would open our hearts to you and give you what we have.
The ribbons are a feeling of comfort you will always find comfort in our home and welcome always.
Our wreath is at our back door and not on the front it is there to indicate that you are welcome not as a visitor but as a friend.........it is also were we greet our friends at the hearth of our Home.
This is the simple symbols of our wreath and are our values each and every day of the year.
This is our Thursday.........."was that Santa I just heard? going overhead" are you naughty or nice!!:o)

What a neat idea!! I love the way you explained the reasoning behind each of the items on the wreath...great idea. I wish that we could have the freedom here to leave our homes open like this. We have been broken into twice now. I try to be hospitable but I could not just leave my door open. It is sad to say that America is getting so bad and also sad...Robbers are everywhere. Things are changing. I hate it. I will remember that wreath when I get to come to your back door...smile..Sandy
Thanks for visiting me again, Lee-Ann. It's been a while since we visited, hasn't it?
Your wreath and the symbolic decorations are lovely.
I'm so sorry the wildfires are raging there right now. I know it's a yearly thing, but still so sad and destructive. We have them here in the states, although not so much here where I live. We do have them occasionally, but not like they have them in California and other states.
Have a Merry Christmas, friend. :-)
wish I were standing at your back door right now. We would have such a lovely chat over a cuppa!
LeeAnn,
I love the beautiful symbolism of yor door wreath! I'd love to be nearby so we could visit each other in real life!
Those wildfires can really be so destructive. I hope they aren't anywhere near you!
:)
Dear Lee-Ann...your wreath is breathtaking...not only in beauty but because of the meaning behind it! Your blog always feels so very welcoming so I can just imagine how it would feel going to your home!! Much love xoxo

Love all your vintage decorations!
Your lovely wreath carries so much true Christmas spirit (or did you drink it all? ... lol) and I'm sure it's a constant reminder of all the things the birth of the Saviour means to us.
I know your Christmas will be happy, despite external hardships, because the love and happiness you radiate. God bless you.
I love your wreath and all of the symbolism...Great!!
:-D
That's a lovely wreath! And the symbolism makes it so much more special.
Thanks for dropping by my photoblog!
Hi Lee-ann , thanks so much for visting my blog, I finally got back to say hi! I love your wreath and the Christmas Deco display looks great! I recently took my little Drew to the Museum for the first time and he loved it. I used to work there too , a few years ago now and loved exploring during my lunch and tea breaks. I'll send my sister in to see them, she loves vintage everything! Be back again soon, shae xo
Hi Lee-ann
What a beautiful post! I love the symbology you have used and I feel so welcome.
I do hope the bushfires aren't in your area. They're pretty terrible in Victoria at the moment.
Take care of yourself and have a wonderful weekend.
It's a beautiful wreath with wonderful symbols. Well done Lee-nn!
Thanks so much for stopping by to see if all is OK. You're such a thoughtful friend! We're OK here but we've had a tough few days with a vicious racoon attacking our barn cats. It has killed 2 which was very traumatic, and 2 others are missing. A trapper friend of ours has set a trap below the barn and we've been keeping the cats confined in the milkhouse nights and even a couple of days...for their protection. Unfortunately we haven't caught the wretched coon yet!
I've been trying to procede with preparations for Christmas...I shopped for hours on Monday amidst snow squalls.....and have been writing my annual Christmas letter today, and getting ready to send out my cards. I send quite a few to family and friends in Australia, and usually have it done by the last week in November, so I'm late! I need to get those in the mail!
I haven't been visiting blogs much this week and of course, haven't had time to post. I hope to catch up soon. I'm missing all my dear blog friends!
I hope all is well with you and thanks again for your kind concern. It amazes me how blog friends seem to shower each other with affection and care. It's no wonder we love to blog!
Your wreath and your description of it are just so you! I always feel welcome when I visit your blog and I'm sure your home is even more welcoming.
So sorry to hear about all the fires. They can be so destructive and so scary. We have a lot of fires here in Southern California but luckily none right now. I'm sending you good thoughts that you stay safe
*Lovely!*
Lee-Ann,
I love your welcoming wreath!
Junie
Nice - I love the old key - beautiful sentiments, and lovely wreath. Your home sounds so warm and welcoming.
My mom has a backdoor greeting for friends too. What a neat idea! Hope you get some rain soon too!
