O! goodie~"show & tell" Friday again

Hello everyone
My "show and tell" this week is a little view of were I work.
I love so much working here and so felt this would be a nice way to show you all on this

"show & tell Friday"
Op-shops or second hand shops are so interesting in that you just never know what will come it and so the displays and shelves are always filled with many and varied items which changes from day to day................I will let you take a look at a day last week when I took my camera to take a few photos.

The country cottage kitchenalia front window display
shelves filled with great items to hunt through.

More pieces of bric-&-brac

A tiny shelf display

Some teddies that arrived looking for new homes and I am happy to report they all now have left the shop with new owners who loved them very much. (the teddies left with smiles on their faces)

The great thing about being a volunteer and part time worker at such a special place is making friends with people in all walks of life and taking them not on face value but what they hold in their hearts................everyone has a dream, we all have hopes for our futures and those who visit this little shop be they in need or not they are all welcomed in friendship by all who work there.

This is my show and tell for the week and I hope that is is within the rules of this great

Friday "show & tell"

What a delightful looking shop. I'd like to visit it. I don't go to a lot of shops because my husband isn't into that. I do enjoy it when I get a chance to go.

Thank you for sharing a bit about the fantastic shop where you are lucky enough to work! "Op shop" is a new term to me, I like the way it sounds. There must be too many temptations there for you to resist purchasing one or two every week! What fun, and a good exercise in self-control.

I love these kinds of shops-I really love vintage kitchen items. If I worked in one, I would be their best customer!

It would be disastrous to our budget for me to work at a shop like that. I'd be so tempted to buy treasures all the time. Enjoy...

Hi Lee-ann ~~ Lovely display at your op shop Just as well there aren't such good ones near me.
About the joke, I don't think I posted it but found a similar one
and I will post it tonight. Hope that helps. Thanks for your kind words about my blog. I hope your son had a
wonderful birthday and he is doing a great job raising his kids alone.
Take care, Love, Merle.

Hi Lee Ann,
The "fixins" is a general term for anything that goes with whatever you are having to eat. In my post I was referring to whatever goes on a sandwich and all its fixins (like tomato, lettuce, mayo, onions, cheese etc).

Love your shop's wares...they're lovely and so interesting to look at.

That would be a fun place to work! I enjoyed 'virtual shopping' and bought the pretty pink and white bowl under the pink rose ;-) If it wasn't on the other side of the world from me, I would buy it for real.

Thanks so much for posting these pictures. I love going to these shops to look around. Tonight I just clicked on each picture you posted to enlarge it then browsed to my hearts content!I think it would be a lot of fun to work in a place like this but I'm afraid I would ruin my checking account, and my walls would be buldging too!

Lee-Ann, don't move a thing. Just hang on - I'm on my way.

Hi Lee-Anne, Nice window display. I could browse to my hearts content looking at all that china.
There renovating St. Vinnies here and near impossible to get in the store to browse.

My goodness, it's been months since we visited one another! Thank you so much for breaking the cycle. I was thinking of you in your lovely cottage just Friday and should have come over then. But thank you so much for coming, and I hope you can see the rest of the pictures.

I visited your last two posts as well - the kookaburra story is wonderful. We learned that song in grade school music class, and I doubt that I even knew or cared was a kookaburra was! Now I have that song in my head as I head to worship this morning. Ha!

The trip to your shop was wonderful. We visited in Minnesota this summer and stayed with some relatives who have a veritable museum of collectibles in their home. I wish I could have taken a picture of every one of her collectibles. I'll bet you would enjoy looking at the ones I did take - back on July 30.

We are going through some pretty heavy stuff right now with our daughter's unexpected pregnancy, which seems to have some problems. They'll find out Tuesday if it is serious. If you have time, you can read about it in earlier August posts, one which links to hers. Please join us in prayer. Thank you!

Let's not stay way so long next time!
