Our humble little cottage "A miners cottage"

This is for all those who are trying to get a better peek! :o) at our little cottage.
This is our humble little home what in Australia is called a "miners cottage"
It has a passage way down the middle and it was to help the cool evening air flow through the house.
Hubby and I planted the beautiful elm trees each side of the path and they are growing so large one day I am sure I will find grandsons perched on branch's.
Each side of the porch is a very old grape vine and the grapes are yummy if we get them before the birds.
We also have a very! very! large oak tree out the back that was planted there in the 1880's.
It is a simple little house but to us it is a wonderful home filled with a simple way of life & such happiness what more would one want.
This is my Saturday!

Thank you for our little visit.

I love your miner's cottage. It looks happy and welcoming. Right about now I would love a small house and a simple life. Mine have both been topsy-turvy this past week. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This looks like a great place to live. My hubby and I live in a house that looks like it was built up on stilts. I will have to post a picture for you Lee-Ann so that you can see it. Now the problem is that everything is up 14 steps. We are in our 60's plus my hubby works very hard. Coming up those steps at the end of a long hard day or carrying up groceries when it is 100 degrees outside is very very hard. But we feel blessed to have a house to live in.
Thanks for letting us see where you live...

I love your cottage and your spring pictures. We love spring and flowers at my house too. (Beautiful Hyacinth by the way... although I'm not sure if I spelled that right.) :) It is just turning to fall here in Nebraska, how does that correspond to the seasons in Austrailia? I've never thought about that before.

Hi Lee-Ann.

What a beautiful home. I love these little cottages (we call them worker's cottages in Qld). I can't get over how green your block is - not like the pale green/brown we have at the moment.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Love

Robyn

Lee Ann,
What a pastoral and picturesque home you have. You and your husband have invested a lot of love in it to make it as comfortable as it surely is. Thanks for sharing.

We call them 'Shotgun Shacks' in this neck of the woods. They were built like that for the 'sharecroppers' and old slave shanties in the South. It comes from saying, "you could shoot a shotgun in the front door and it would go straight out the back door". And they make absolutely adorable little abodes! Your's is cute! sooo many pretty flowers and I'd sure love a PORCH like yours!

What a lovely family. I adore the pictures of your garden, such bright vibrant colors. We won't see colors like that again until April or May. Then here in Florida, they will only last until the end of June, it will be to hot for them to last.
Yes ma'am, I did join in June. My family is wrapped tight in the masonic teachings.
My husband is actually at his own EA degreee initiation tonight. He is one step closer to being a master mason now.
I hope your days are bright and warm!
Peg

********I posted this down at the bottom, but I am not sure if you will get it...sorry for the double comments.*****************
