It is official - I declare Winter is here at our house! :)

YES!
I declare winter has arrived.
So today the fire wood for our open fire is stacked at the back door and more will be ordered.
The flannel sheets are on our bed and an extra blanket too.
I have moved all the summer clothes to the top shelves and have brought down the winter gear, Why I even found our gloves and jackets all ready for the cleaners to freshen them up.
So you see I declare Winter has arrived at our house.
Now you may think why have I decided today well.....................
It is going to be 2degs C tonight that is approx 32F now that is cold for us here.
It is snowing on the mountains today for the first time also
It has not stopped raining for the past four days on and off all day and night (wonderful)
But the most important thing of all is Hubby asked me could I cook a warm stew! YES! that is it!!! it is the first day of winter at our house when hubby asks that very question for sure.

Here are some of our rainy day photos today

Yes I know I have shown you before but these are today's photos and the rain is just beautiful after several years of little or none.

Yes! these black clouds came down a moment or two ago! (beautiful)

out back beyond our oak tree! love the colour of those great grey clouds!

Now look at this a puddle at my back gate! yippee!!! oops sorry I am a mature grandmother shouldn't get this carried away over a puddle now should I heheheheh!!!

YES! this is hail stones beautiful don't you think?? :)

I wish for you the joy in your day as I find in my Monday here.

This is my MONDAY and will be yours soon too on the other side of the world.

I just wanted to exult with you in the cold and raininess of your days! Glad it wasn’t that cold on Saturday night though, as we were in our sheds near Castlemaine. Lots of water in our dam too, and green all around.

Isn't it wonderful! We were supposed to get hail too, but so far it hasn't happened. Rain on and off these last few days though, and that's terrific. I have never looked forward to a winter so much, have you?

I haven't really gotten use to realizing our seasons are reversed. So glad you are getting that much needed rain. Nothing like a refreshing, pure rain.

Yes you "SHOULD" get carried away over a puddle of rain!! We are that way here in Gerorgia!! We are needing rain so very bad. The wildfires here are spreading smoke to us again today!! Our flowers and grass are having quite the time which I know you completely understand!! So go ahead and jump up and down or do like my friend does..DO THE "HAPPY DANCE" for the rain...Hey maybe dancing will bring more rain!! Sandy

LeeAnn,
I'm rejoicing with you on that rain. I know how badly you said you needed it and it must be a welcome gift!
I love each season but I enjoy the time of warm flannel sheets and cozy stews very much too.
Wouldn't work here today with our warm sunshine and shorts weather!

How wonderful that you're getting some much needed rain lately! It almost feels like winter is coming back over here too...we've had frost every morning for the past week and the temps are staying very cool for this time of year! Ugh! My poor flowers are struggling because it's too cold! Our normal temps for this time of year is around 23c...today it's 11c!! xox

Its late spring in my corner of the world but I'll still jump in that lovely puddle with you. I truly enjoy the first rain of the season here, its when it goes on and on that I start to feel grumpy.

Enjoy the puddles, make mud pies, get soaking wet and then go get warm.

Oh, those paving stone bricks look so pretty when wet! I love the winter, all cozy and rainy and cloudy skies. You can keep summer with it's beating-down heat and dusty air. Of course I forget that you are half a world away and in an opposite season from me and it really IS winter over there! I'm preparing for boiling hot summer in my neck of the woods.

And isn't it so refreshing and cleaning and clearing! Even though the leaves are falling and we are settling in for winter with the long longed-for rain finally arriving, we feel like all things are new again, don't you think?

It's so hard to hear that word "winter" again...
I'd put it away in moth balls for a bit. At least I don't see any snow down under...or is that on it's way? :)

Lucky you! I love winter with the fires, stews, soups, hot tea, the snow and the cold! enjoy your winter and think of me roasting in the summer heat.

Oh how lovely! It rained all day up here yesterday too. I think that it would be the first time I have'nt heard a single person whinge about rain up here in Queensland. If it could just keep going all winter long.... we could break that drought. I am going to put a stew on tomorrow for my hubby. Lots of tomoato and onion in his.... with homemade crusty bread... Mmmmm

Hi Lee-Ann,

Yes! Beautiful rain! :)

I loved catching up with you here. And I love the old things you've displayed among your flowers and plants! We do that too. My husband recently put an old bike among my roses and we have used an old clawfoot bathtub for a water garden. My husband also has a collection of old farm implements on a wooden wall separating our property from our neighbors!

Have a good day.

Junie
