Friday Show and tell

I cannot believe it is Friday night again and here I am with another "show @ tell"
I have a beautiful garden pot, a wall hanging one. She is so special and I would like to share her with you all.

I can remember when my husband bought her for me like it was yesterday. It was at a craft market down at the beach in St Kilda about 1984. We had been renovating our old Hotel/home we bought at Port Melbourne and my dad had come from Adelaide to stay with us so the market was a nice change from all the brick dust and plaster.

This is how she is now! TODAY

This week at this renovation someone decided to let a door fall and I had it in a spot I felt it would be safe but the door fell right across her face and took the very tip of her nose off and damaged the bottom edge.

I was very upset and truly sad as I felt seeing as my dad has passed away now it was a treasure of a day shared with him.

But then with a smile I decided to look on the bright side of all this the only damage that was done can be repaired and her face is still angelic, a true heavenly piece. I am grateful she was not smashed into a thousand pieces

When I have a moment to repair her she will watch over my garden again from the back porch and as I pass her during my day she will always remind me of a special moment to remember "Dad"

This is my Fridays show & tell

Kelli at "there is no place like home" Is the host of this great idea.

I still cannot believe it is now Friday again ((smiles))

Oh, she is so sweet and adorable! I fully understand that you were so sad when she was partly broken! What a wonderful treasure for your garden!

I would love to have such a little bust at my garden too and in fact, I recently found a very nice - but (too) expensive one. So I will try to be patient and hope that some day, a nice bust will pass my way...

Yeah, it's Friday again! Time flis, doesn't it?

Best wishes from Germany,
Anita

What an unusual and lovely flower pot and such wonderful memories. The minute I saw the second picture I thought "Oh that can be repaired"! So thankful the damage was repairable. Kind of like events in our lives sometimes!!!!

oh your little angel is really beautiful - even if she is broken - we all have our battle scars somewhere :) just look on the break as her battle scars but she is still here to look over you!
hope your weekend is glorious xo

What an absolutely charming piece. I'm so sorry she was broken, but so glad she is redeemable for you. The chip on her nose just gives her a vintage look. She still oozes charm.

I understand wanting to keep those memories alive with something you can see and touch. I lost my Mom less than 2 years ago, and I have several of those types of things.

Thanks for sharing. I scrolled down in your blog and I love your sense of humor.

What a beautiful pot Lee Ann. I`ve never seen anything like it. How awful you must have felt when it broke. NBut it looks as good as new now:) And a lovely memory of your Dad to go with it.
Hope you`re having a great weekend. I`ve finally took some time to visit and I`m so glad I did.

She truly is beautiful and I know how much it hurt you when you saw her broken but as you say, the damage really is minimal and not in a million pieces! She will continue to give you memories and joy in your garden no matter how many nicks and scratches she gets:-) xoxo

WHO DID THAT??!!! Why did it have to be another irreplaceable Pear Cottage treasure that those tradies got careless with? Grrr..You are so positive about things, Leeann - a good example to your Eltham friend who would have been after those men with an axe!

I so relate to this lea-ann. Years ago, I was given a bowl and pitcher that belonged to my grandparents. It travelled back across country with me and arrived safe and sound. Then as I unloaded the car in my parent's garage, the bottom of the bag containing the bowl split and my bowl shattered. It was the most awful feeling in the world at that moment. My father, God love him, put all the bits and pieces back together. I had no idea he was doing this until one day, months later, he presented it to me. Now, everytime I see the pitcher and bowl, I think of my dad.
