Our little orchard springing to life

The Sun was peaking through the branches of the plum tree this morning. It is trying so hard to warm us, but the clouds and rain still come. It is so wet and soggy out in our little orchard, yet I can see the promise of plums, pears and apples even in these branches already.

It is trying so hard to shine and bring warmth to my little tired orchard.

The grass is high but the bulbs can find their way through, and they reach out higher to put on a lovely spring show.

The trees look very tired but they will be fine when the sun warms their branches.

This pear tree was planted in the early 1900's. I think it is beautiful and it gives us some lovely pears each year.

It's branches, gosh! if only they could talk. I wonder what they have been witness to over those many years. The town had grown around it and then died back and changed and now here it is again without the trucks and many cars rushing past but peacefully resting in our little orchard ready to start life again and to produce its beautiful pears.

I just took a little look around our sad little house today it cannot wait for spring, as we also cannot wait. then our home will be once again worked on and the building part of our renovations (that have gone on for forever) will begin again and that window I planned to look out to the orchard will show me a garden filled with age and new beginnings and how good is that?
why its wonderful!!
This is my Tuesday - blessings to you all

Ah yes, spring is the promise of new life and we all feel rejuvenated after a cold winter. Today was quite warm and tomorrow's going to be warmer. Roll on summer!

You know Lee-Ann I have always wondered about Old Trees and what they have seen. We live here in the south around these big old Live oaks. They have seen so much. I would love to know what they have seen. I can really understand how you feel about your big tree.
Spring is on its way for you..Good I love Spring.

Hi Lee Ann!
I see all the little promises of spring in your photos. I know you must be eager to finish your remodeling!
I'm sure all those trees have lots of tales they could tell if they could talk!

Dearest Lee-ann,

Hello my friend! I know, it's been much too long since I've come for a visit...I'm so behind with everyone it seems! Today, though, I'm visiting all of my dear friends to catch up with their news:-)

It certainly does look like Spring is arriving in your corner of the world. Over here the nights are getting much cooler and this morning when I got up it was only 9c!! Autumn is fast approaching here!

Loved seeing your pear tree...as you say, if only branches could talk:-) I had never seen a pear tree before until this past weekend while in Niagara Falls...we had stopped to visit a heritage house and they had a pear tree with pears growing in the yard!!

Please know that I have read all of your previous posts so am now caught up with your news:-) xoxo

Hi Lee Ann - it was such a delight to read your comment on my blog. Thank you for visiting. I've had fun looking through this post and previous ones. We share a delight in op shops and Country Living magazines, and when you find a combination of both in the one place, it's bliss isn't it!I'll visit again. Great that I could bring back Mannum memories for you.

I love these images of being ankle high in grass and flowers. I'd so enjoy reading the tree's stories.

It's nice that it's nearly spring for you but the problem is that this means that it's nearly autumn for us...

G'Day,
Lovely to know that no matter what, drought, fire, flood, heat and cold, the seasons keep rolling on and bring their delights to share with us. I love spring time the best of all. It looks like you have a good sized bit of dirt to play in there, I should be so lucky!

Historic trees are way cool. It is weird and right all at the same time to see your spring bulbs coming up as I get ready to order mine. Hope your spring is heavenly.
