Hello everyone well you would truly think being a lady carpenter and having a husband as a builder AND! living through this many times it would be easy! well as I am sure many of you know it is simply not true it is such a mess and a struggle to keep any order at all in my home.
This was my dinning room now I am not sure what it is. The floor has been ripped up so the plumber can take the pipes out the other side of the house. WHEN! this is all finished this room is to become a lovely full size main bedroom and I know will look stunning BUT! I am ready for it all to be
finished before it has hardly begun!
This is going to be the new bathroom very cottage style and it too will look nice I just know that but when O! when...............last Friday I stayed home to wait for the plumber to finish this part of the job and by 2.30 I guessed he was not going to get here then the call came "I have blown up my van!" he said and unable to get there "I will not be there next week either I have to buy a new van" that is OK! I am sure I can live with this hole in my floor for a week even if it is the middle of winter!! I think not!
So I told him please get here as quickly as you can I'll even lend you one of our carpenters van (sound like a desperate lady! you would be right) so when will I see him I am not sure.
One tiny good thing my old huge sideboard is in its correct place in my home again and so I could not stop myself from putting some of my vintage pieces on it to help with the way I feel at the moment even if I do have to dust them every day I can handle that....................but hello plumber were are you???????
I suppose it could be worse much worst in fact I think it is going to be..............
This is my Tuesday tonight I am going to visit you all to see how your Tuesday is!
Cheers - from Lee-ann

Oh man I feel for you, it is hard not to want it all to be over and done instantly. but the end result will be worth it.

Oh what a mess! Poor thing.
But, oh my goodness, what a cupboard full of beautiful treasures. Those vintage pieces are a feast for the eyes.
Oh oh oh, what a nightmare post. Please tell us when it is safe to look at your blog again, heh heh.
But isn't the cold air (it is ICY in Melbourne today)rushing in where the floor should be? Just this morning I was reading energy saving tips and they said timber and tiled floors should have rugs on them. Don't know what they'd suggest in your case, Lee-ann. But this stage too will pass, just hang in there!
Ooohaaaah! Renovating in the middle of winter...very chilly.
Hopefully your man with the blown up van will turn up soon.
Meanwhile don't freeze to death.
Oh Dear what chaos!
Your beautiful pieces must soothe you somewhat!
Keep your eye on the prize... It will be lovely when it's done.
I'd offer to pick up and deliver the man with the van!!
xo
WOW!! I hate messes. I came back to a small one which I am going to clean up really soon. We are glad to be back home. You are brave doing all of this in the wintertime. I bet it makes it colder for you...BUT just think what it is going to look like once it is all done, finished and beautiful! Then we will get to see the WONDERFUL pictures!! Sandy
These are the times when you have to have a wonderful imagination and see it when it is finished...No mess...
Looks like it is going to be grand.
Hugs,
Connie
Remodeling is the most flustrating of things but well worth the time, effort and expense. Hang in there.
I must say I've never had to have a floor ripped up!!! That has to be a real challenge.

Oh, remodeling can be such a mess. I will be thinking of you! I hope your plumber showed up by now. How nice of you to offer him the use of your van.
I don't envy you all the upheaval even though the end result will be worth it. Hope it doesn't last too long then you will have all the fun of decorating and arranging your lovely new rooms. Meanwhile it's a really good idea to have some of your favourite things to look at just to keep you going.
I know how hard it is to live with the house in such a mess when you're remodelling but it's always worth it when it's all done:-) Hang in there and hopefully the plumber has been back by now!! xox
that is why I keep postponing redoing the kitchen. I am afraid I will never get it back!
I just showed Ken your pictures and he said "It doesn't mean anything now. It could stay like that for another ten years!" Such confidence he has in your hubby, LOL!!
Oh Lee-Ann I hope the plumber turns up very soon and so cold and draughty in winter, We had our lounge and hallway floor pulled up to get the house reblocked was so cold we moved in to our caravan in the backyard was warm with the heater on and no draughts.
Oh my goodness! I know how frustrated you must feel! But at least you know that it's going to be gorgeous soon!!
It will all be worth it in the end, but oh, I know how hard it is living in the mess of construction and waiting on workers!!! Hang in there, girlfriend! You can vent to us anytime you need to. (giggle).
Janice
OMG, I hope the plumber turns up soon. It must be unbearably cold with the floor open like that. Can you close off the room so the remainder of the house stays warm ??
Take care, Meow

Well, it's Friday here now so...did he ever show up? I sure hope so for your sake. I had my floor done (carpets removed and hardwood put in) in the early summer, so it was okay. But in winter? Never! You are brave to do it now.
Oh, you are so very daring having all this done in the middle of winter, Lee-ann. We had our loungeroom extended during these months some years ago - no roof, no floor and half a wall and all our furniture covered in sheets. Five of us spent all our time crammed into the family room with one small heater. But we survived, and I know you will, too.
I look forward to seeing photos of if finished - I know you're just looking forward to the finish; to heck with the photos ....lol.
I hope the plumber arrives soon and I hope all renovations are smooth running from now on.
Ohhhh dear! Waiting on workmen. -sigh-
My heart goes out to you, during this period of re-doing. Courage! :-)
Mari-Nanci
Oh dear, poor you. Funny how plumbers' vans always break down... Keep smiling!
